Fox News Host Fired For Coming to Work While Sick Despite Pandemic

Many Fox personalities, Tucker Carlson and Laura Ingraham among them, have downplayed the seriousness of Covid-19. Their parent company, however has taken substantial steps to prevent the spread of the illness. Carlson and Ingraham have done the majority of their mask and social distancing bashing from the comfort of their homes.

Heather Childers has been working for the Fox network as an anchor since 2012. In late March, though, she was sidelined by the network after showing up to work visibly sick. Now, the network has announced, they have parted ways with Childers.

A Fox spokesperson revealed Thursday, “Fox News and Heather Childers have parted ways. We wish her all the best.”

The newswoman showed up to work coughing and sneezing in mid-March. By that point in time, the nation was fully aware of the seriousness of the pandemic. A number of her co-workers complained and Fox executives were upset with her actions and she was suspended.

By late March, Childers claimed her Covid tests were negative and that she should return to the air. She tweeted on March 31st, “Last day I was on I mentioned I had gone to a dr to make sure I had no fever or cough of concern after coughing & sneezing on air. Never went to work feeling sick. I sent those results showing no temp or cough. Was then told Covid19 test would most helpful. Negative.”

She also tried to lobby Trump, writing on April 9th, “I’d love to go back to work President Trump, but the antibody tests only show positive if you have had the virus. I’ve had TWO negative COVID19 tests results & no symptoms. Including a doctor testing temp, oxygen, all vitals 3 weeks ago today. All normal. Can I go back to work.”
