Fox News Heir James Murdoch Rips News Organizations That Choose to “Propagate Lies”

Fox News is having a bit of a crisis at the moment. The network has been experiencing terrible ratings. And after Fox chose to call the state of Arizona early, Donald Trump has been at odds with the channel that made him.

Trump isn’t the only person unhappy with Fox and the way they cover the news. James Murdoch, who may eventually inherit the channel from his father Rupert, is also unhappy with the coverage. The heir recently criticized cable news for creating the insurrection because of their lies.

The cable news heir told the Financial Times, “The damage is profound. The sacking of the Capitol is proof positive that what we thought was dangerous is indeed very, very much so. Those outlets that propagate lies to their audience have unleashed insidious and uncontrollable forces that will be with us for years.”

Murdoch continued, “Spreading disinformation — whether about the election, public health or climate change — has real world consequences.”

The billionaire heir concluded, “Many media property owners have as much responsibility for this as the elected officials who know the truth but choose instead to propagate lies. We hope the awful scenes we have all been seeing will finally convince those enablers to repudiate the toxic politics they have promoted once and forever.”
