A former Fox News correspondent is claiming the network strictly forbade conservatives from criticizing Trump. Author and frequent guest on the now-defunct O’Reilly Factor program, Bernie Goldberg, explained how Fox News executives would not allow conservatives to criticize Trump and other right-wing figures, such as Sarah Palin.
Penning a blog on his personal website, Goldberg held little back when he wrote that major figures at the cable network sought retribution against him after he complained Sean Hannity and other hosts were only flattering Trump and Sarah Palin during interviews, as opposed to actually questioning them.
Golberg’s blog comes amid a scorching New Yorker piece that revealed the incestuous relationship between the President and the network. Golberg himself said that Sean Hannity’s interviews with Trump were more like “wet kisses than journalism”
Fox will tolerate a liberal criticizing President Trump, I said, but the network didn’t want conservatives taking shots at him,” Goldberg recalled in his Tuesday post. Sometimes I defended the president against what I thought was unfair criticism. But I was also critical of Mr. Trump, of his vindictiveness and his dishonesty.
Many Americans were already aware of Fox News’ complete and utter lack of objectivity and factual reporting on the President, but it’s refreshing to see that same criticism arrive by way of a conservative pundit.
