Fox & Friends is starting out 2019 by using children and murder as a bargaining chip for Donald Trump’s outwardly racist and problematic immigration stances. As the U.S. government continues its partial shutdown, the conservative network is attempting to tie immigrants to worries from unnamed parents.
As federal workers continue to work without pay, Fox & Friends host Ainsley Earhardt threw her full support behind Trump.
“It is an inconvenience, yes. But the president is saying most of the people are good people, but there are some bad apples in the group. And even though it is an inconvenience, he’s saying that your safety, and your security as an American — he said that you deserve to be able to go to sleep at night and not have to worry about being killed by an illegal immigrant.”
Earhardt doesn’t end her support there, instead, insinuating that some really worried parents have contacted Fox News claiming they are incredibly worried that an illegal immigrant is going to break into their home and murder their children in their sleep.
“And we’ve seen that happen” she continues.” “We’ve seen—there’s so many moms and dads that we’ve interviewed that say “yes, it’s very rare that this is gonna happen. But it can happen and it happened to my child. And the president is saying ‘I want to prevent other families from going through that loss.’”
Fox & Friends tends to dictate the President’s public policy so don’t be surprised if you see this talking point floated around by Trump in the near future.
