Former Trump Org. Executive: Trump Knew About 2016 Trump Tower Meeting
It’s “impossible” that Donald Trump didn’t know about the 2016 Trump Tower meeting. That’s the message one of Trump’s former executives delivered during an interview on Anderson Cooper 360.
During the 2016 meeting, a Russian lawyer promised to provide Trump’s campaign officials with damaging information regarding Hillary Clinton.
Cooper asked Barbara Res if it was plausible that Donald Trump Jr. failed to tell his father about a message he received regarding Kremlin support for his dad’s campaign.
“[It’s] Impossible, in my opinion, based on my experience working with Trump and everybody that worked with Trump,” Res said. “Something major, something newsworthy, something press-worthy would always go before Trump.”
Res left the Trump Organization in the 1990s but says Trump always wanted to be “on top of things.”
This isn’t the first time a former Trump supporter has claimed the President knew of the meeting. Michael Cohen, Trump’s former personal attorney, told CNN that Trump definitely knew about the Trump Tower meeting in 2016.
Cohen admits to having no proof of his claim but told CNN he was willing to meet with Special Counsel Robert Mueller to discuss events that unfolded at the time.
Trump’s attorney, Rudy Giuliani said the claims made by all parties are “flat-out untrue” while speaking on Fox News Sunday.
