Former POTUS Freaks Out Over DOJ Lawsuit Targeting Georgia’s Jim Crow Voting Restrictions
The United States Department of Justice is suing the state of Georgia over its new Jim Crow voting restrictions and former President Donald Trump is not taking the news well at all.
“The rights of all citizens to vote are the central pillars of our democracy. This lawsuit is the first step of many we are taking to ensure that all eligible voters can cast a vote; that all lawful votes are counted; and that every voter has access to accurate information,” Attorney General Merrick Garland told reporters after announcing the lawsuit.
Although Trump has managed to siphon public attention by making noise about the 2020 election having been stolen – also known as his “big lie” – the reality is that President Joe Biden’s administration and Garland are taking the need to protect voting rights seriously, regardless of the false claims that Trump and his Republican enablers continue to propagate.
And Trump absolutely hates it.
“Biden’s Department of Justice just announced that they are suing the Great State of Georgia over its Election Integrity Act. Actually, it should be the other way around! THE PEOPLE of Georgia should SUE the State, and their elected officials, FOR RUNNING A CORRUPT AND RIGGED 2020 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION – and for trying to suppress the VOTE of the AMERICAN PEOPLE in Georgia,” Trump crowed in a statement released by his publicity office shortly after Garland’s announcement.
“If we don’t address these issues from the 2020 Election head on, and we allow the Radical Left Democrats to continue to politicize the DOJ and Law Enforcement, we will lose our Country. SAVE AMERICA!” the statement read.
