Former GOP Speaker’s New Audio Book Destined To Become a Classic for the Ages
Despite the fact that both men are Republicans, John Boehner has always hated Ted Cruz. After he retired from his role as Speaker of the House, he began quite vocal about his distaste for the man.
During a 2016 event at Stanford University, Boehner was asked about the Texas senator. “Lucifer in the flesh,” he said of Cruz. “I have Democrat friends and Republican friends. I get along with almost everyone, but I have never worked with a more miserable son of a bitch in my life.”
And the former Ohio congressman’s opinion of Cruz has not improved over the years. In fact, it’s gotten much worse. In a new audio book, Boehner tells the Texas senator to go “f*ck himself” and Axios has the audio.
At the close of his book, the former Speaker reads, “It (freedom) means your free to reach as high as you want, no matter where you came from. Even if you’re a little kid sweeping at bar out in Southwest Ohio. Take it from me, you’ll never know where you’ll end up. That’s freedom. I’ll raise a glass to that any day. PS, Ted Cruz, go f*ck yourself.”
When @SpeakerBoehner was recording his audiobook I was told by sources that during these wine-soaked sessions he would deviate from the book’s text and insert random violent attacks on @tedcruz. Well, here’s some tape (listen to the end): pic.twitter.com/NFCQ2QFdTT

Boehner took another shot at Cruz in a different section of his book. “There is nothing more dangerous than a reckless a**hole who thinks he is smarter than everyone else. Ladies and gentlemen, meet Senator Ted Cruz. He enlisted the crazy caucus of the GOP in what was a truly dumbass idea. Not that anybody asked me.”
