Former GOP Speaker John Boehner Tells Ted Cruz to “Go F Himself” in Audiobook, Blames Wine
Ted Cruz is not well liked by his colleagues. And that doesn’t just go for lawmakers on the other side of the aisle. Plenty of Republicans don’t like the Texas lawmaker either.
John Boehner is certainly one of those Republicans. When he was Speaker of the House, he said of Cruz in 2016, “Lucifer in the flesh,I have Democrat friends and Republican friends get along with almost everyone, but I have never worked with a more miserable son of a bitch in my life.”
The former Ohio congressman is now writing a book about his experiences in Washington. And during a recording for his audiobook, Boehner had some more advice for Cruz.
Axios reports, “John Boehner has been going off script while recording the audio version of his new memoir, using expletives and asides not in the book — such as the former Republican House speaker saying, ‘Oh, and Ted Cruz, go f**k yourself.'”
The audio copy of the upcoming tome is unfiltered and carries a heftier price tag. Spokesman David Schnittger said, “I can confirm there were some off-script moments during his recording of the audiobook. He pretty much just let it fly, as he did when he was working on the book itself. He’s not really interested in being anything other than himself these days. That is kind of the spirit of the entire project.”
Boehner explained this morning, “Poured myself a glass of something nice to read my audiobook. You can blame the wine for the expletives.”
