The U.S. State Department has tapped Fox New correspondent Lea Gabrielle to run point against foreign propaganda aimed at the United States.

Speaking to Foreign Policy Magazine, Gabrielle said her appointment to head the Global Engagement Center is expected to be announced in the near future. Gabrielle is a former U.S. Navy fighter pilot and previously served as a journalist for both NBC and Fox News.
“We have to realize that we are under attack by adversary countries and international terrorist organizations that are using propaganda and disinformation as a weapon,” she told FPM. “They’re doing it because it’s cheap, and it’s easy, and because they can.”
During her interview, she spoke to dangers against the United States from China, Russia, and Iran.
The Global Engagement Center has been routinely at odds with Donald Trump and his administration over the organizations handling of Russian election meddling.
Gabrielle isn’t the first Fox News personality to join the agency, former anchor Heather Nauert was previously the State Department’s chief spokesperson.
