Florida Group Has Been Pushing Trump to Promote Industrial Bleach as COVID Cure

There are countless medications being investigated as a potential cure for COVID-19. Some have exited Doctors with promising results, while others have shown to be too dangerous to be used for treatment.

On Thursday, Donald Trump suggested that industrial cleaner could potentially be used to kill the disease. While he said on Friday he was being sarcastic, many wondered where he got the idea from. According to a new report from The Guardian, a Florida company began sending letters to Trump about the potential treatment last week.

The group, called Genesis II, makes a product they call MMS or Miracle Mineral Solution (essentially chlorine dioxide). The leader of the company, Mark Grenon, has been writing to Trump about the potential effects of the drug on COVID-19.

Grenon discussed his latter on a recent radio show. He called MMS, “a wonderful detox that can kill 99% of the pathogens in the body.” And he later wrote, “[it] can rid the body of Covid-19.”

After Trump discussed the potential of using disinfectant as a treatment against the virus, Grenon excitedly reacted on his Facebook page. He wrote, “Trump has got the MMS and all the info!!! Things are happening folks! Lord help others to see the Truth!”
