President Biden is urging Senators to carry out a rule change that would simplify the passage of bills, allowing passage by a simple majority rather than the 60 votes required currently. This would prevent Republicans from blocking the passage of voting rights legislation that Democrats are fighting for in response to new voter suppression laws popping up around the country.

“This matters to all of us,” Biden told a crowd in Georgia. “The goal of the former President and his allies is to disenfranchise anyone who votes against him.”

Dr. Anthony Fauci has gone viral again, responding to Senator Rand Paul, who again used a Congressional hearing to hammer the epidemiologist with lies and allegations rather than to ask questions furthering the government’s understanding of the pandemic and necessary measures. Fauci asked viewers to check out Paul’s website, where the “Fire Fauci” button leads to a fundraising page, and indicated that the Senator is using attacks on him — which are provoking violent threats to Fauci and his family — for financial gain.

On Tuesday North Korea appeared to test-fire a new ballistic missile that may be more advanced than the hypersonic one launched less than a week ago. The launch has provoked concerns from the United Nations, and condemnation by authorities in Washington and Tokyo.
