Democrats are fighting hard to pass voting rights legislation, even if it requires changing Senate rules, following the attempted coup by disappointed Trump supporters after the last Presidential election, and the follow-up efforts by Republican legislatures to reduce voting access. Republicans have continued to block the legislation, with the aid of a few more conservative Democrats.

In a remarkable medical development, U.S. scientists have successfully transplanted a genetically-modified pig heart into a human patient with terminal heart disease. If this experimental transplant proves successful, scientists hope it could mean an alleviation of the shortage of transplant organs.
