Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, who was once a friend and unpaid advisor to the first lady, Melania Trump, has written a book that is being described as “explosive.” The book will expose what happened while Wolkoff advised Melania from her transition from New York to The White house all the way up to 2018 when Wolkoff was ousted.
Wolkoff was first assigned to advise Melania Trump following President Trump’s election victory in 2016. Other than advising Melania on her transition, Wolkoff was also responsible for helping the first lady create her political portfolio. Unfortunately for Wolkoff, she would soon find herself on the outside of the administration when it was revealed that her firm was paid $26 million after planning President Trump’s inauguration ceremony and similar events in 2017. Wolkoff was pushed out when the reports came out in 2018.
Wolkoff claims that her firm only “retained a total of $1.62m” and she also claims that she was not simply ousted but “thrown under the bus.” She also says that the money received was shared among her staff. Wolkoff would later come back to haunt the Trump administration when she cooperated with prosecutors in Manhattan when they were investigating whether or not the Trump’s 2017 inaugural committee inappropriately spent the $107 million it was given in donations.
Vanity Fair reports that the title of Wolkoff’s book is Melania and me and will be available on September 1. According to the description, Vanity Fair found, the book will reveal Wolkoff’s journey “navigating the White House and East Wing” where the first lady’s offices are located. The book will also tell the “journey from their friendship that started in New York to [Winston Wolkoff’s] role as the First Lady’s trusted advisor to her abrupt and very public departure, to life after Washington.”
It will be interesting to see what impact the book has on Melania Trump or the Trump administration as a whole. Melania Trump is often silent and people will be wondering if Melania will react to her former friend and aid.
