Eric Trump’s Wife, Who Now Works at Fox News, Says Kamala Harris Wasn’t Made VP on Merit

Lara Trump married Eric Trump in 2014. At the time she was working for Inside Edition. She soon became an important surrogate for the former President, appearing on television nearly as often as his own sons.

Shortly after Donald Trump was voted out of office, his daughter-in-law became one of many people from Trump world to be hired by Fox News. Like most anchors on the network, she is focused on culture war issues rather than topics that actually affect everyday Americans. During a recent segment, she blasted current Vice President Kamala Harris as unqualified to be Vice President.

Kamala Harris became the Vice President after serving as Attorney General of California and as a United States Senator. Many figures in Donald Trump’s orbit were given positions despite no governmental experience. This didn’t prevent Lara Trump from saying of Harris:

“She was not chosen based on merit. She was chosen based on virtue signaling and pandering to get votes from women and minorities. And what a bad way to ever chose someone for any position. It should always be based on merit, it should only be based on merit.”
