Eric Trump: My Father Will Concede If He’s “Blown Out of the Water”
There are still a number of scenarios that could play out during the 2020 election. Joe Biden is likely to win the popular vote. That doesn’t mean, however, that Trump couldn’t still squeak out a victory in the electoral college.
Of course, the is also the chance that Biden romps and wins all the swing states as well as a couple of states that were expected to stay red. This is the only scenario, Eric Trump says, where his father would willingly leave the White House.
Donald Trump raised eyebrows this week when he said that he may not leave office if Joe Biden wins. “Well, we’re going to have to see what happens,” he said. “You know that I’ve been complaining very strongly about the ballots, and the ballots are a disaster.”
Eric Trump addressed these comments during a recent campaign event in Las Vegas, Nevada. “I think my father’s just saying listen, if he got blown out of the water, of course he’d concede,” he said. “If he thought there was massive fraud, then he’d go and try and address that.”
Republicans on the Hill were also asked about Donald Trump’s comments this week. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell tweeted, “The winner of the November 3rd election will be inaugurated on January 20th. There will be an orderly transition just as there has been every four years since 1792.”
