In recent months, MAGA has turned its ire on Disney. Now Donald Trump is hurrying to find them something new to watch. It’s a safe bet that his new streaming service won’t have Republican governors crying that it’s ‘too woke’ for their states.
According to Rolling Stone, the MAGA media company Trump started after being booted out of the White House is getting to work on its next project, and its hiring. Trump Media & Technology Group, which has, so far, produced a social media site that most people can’t yet access (though the company’s CEO, Devin Nunes promises a web browser version will be available later this month) is now hiring for another medium: news and television.
The company has released an ad seeking a streaming service content manager who can
“generate and develop internal concepts for original unscripted content, short form series episodes and specials,” remain “current on developing trends at networks,” and “stay aware of emerging talent and upcoming non-scripted programming.”
That’s not all. Trump’s company is also seeking a content acquisition manager, according to the official site. This position requires the applicant to “[i]dentify content for licensing, [s]ource ownership, and negotiate distribution rights for our SVOD platform”
, and to have at least 5 years of experience sourcing content for a streaming platform.
Trump has complained of feeling maligned on news and other media as well as on social sites, even attempting to have the Justice Department stop entertainment shows from making fun of him, so while the company describes itself as being “dedicated” to creating a “censorship-free experience,” it’s probably a safe guess that anything too “woke” or that hurts Trump’s feelings won’t be welcome.
