Donald Trump Says, “Big Deal!” When Asked About Child Sex Trafficking Charges, Ghislaine Maxwell
In an interview, Donald Trump was asked about his well-wishes to Ghislaine Maxwell, who stands accused of helping Jeffrey Epstein abuse and traffic young girls. Trump hinted that all he meant was that he hoped she wasn’t murdered in prison, insisted he didn’t know anything about her alleged crimes, and when confronted with the charge, snapped, “Big deal!”
Jonathan Swan interviewed Trump for an HBO/Axios special, and in the course of the interview, he asked the president about Ghislaine Maxwell. Trump has been criticized for, when previously asked about her, and the crimes she’s charged with, refusing to give much comment other than, “I wish her well.” Some have interpreted this as a message to Maxwell not to mention Trump, who partied with her and Epstein, and has also been accused of abusing young girls. IN this interview, Swan asked Trump what he meant by the remark.

In the clip above, Trump responds, “Her friend or boyfriend was either killed or committed suicide in jail. She’s now in jail. Yeah, I wish her well. I’d wish you well.”
Swan presses, “I mean, she’s an alleged child sex trafficker.”
“Big deal!” Trump responds. “Her boyfriend died!”

Jeffrey Epstein died in prison, and while it was ruled a suicide, this has been disputed, including by his brother, and a forensic pathologist hired to review the case, and the New York Times reported last October. Epstein has been connected to a long list of high-profile men, including Donald Trump and Bill Clinton, fueling numerous alternative theories about his cause of death.
