Donald Trump “Ordered Heavy Dose Of Penicillin Injected In My Butt” Says Former Staffer
Anthony Scaramucci, who served as Donald Trump’s press secretary for a very short time, is weighing in on the president’s self-reported germophobia, and the claim that he’s been getting COVID-19 tests multiple times a day. Scaramucci says that he finds the extreme claim believable, because the president’s fear of germs and illness extends to such an extreme that he once made the former staffer take an injection of penicillin — all because he cleared his throat.
During a press conference Tuesday, Kayleigh McEnany, Trump’s current press secretary, was asked about Trump’s mixed messaging on masks, since he recently called wearing a mask patriotic, but is regularly seen in public without one. McEnany dodged, saying that Trump is “the most tested man in America, he’s tested more than anyone, multiple times a day.”

There was much incredulity expressed across social media. The tests most widely available to the public can take days to return results, and the rapid tests can have high error ratings. Meanwhile, the test is invasive, and Trump has publicly disparaged testing. These and other factors left many expressing strong disbelief that this could be true.
However, one former Trump staffer wasn’t surprised to hear it, and was willing to share why.
I believe it. He once had Ronny Jackson inject a heavy dose of penicillin into my butt cheek on Air Force One because I cleared my throat and he thought I was getting sick. https://t.co/mIPQUujPIx

Trump’s concern about illness isn’t new information. The Washington Post reported in 2017 that the president had called hand-shaking a barbaric practice, and in response to allegations involving hotel rooms, hired escorts, and urine, he said, “I’m also very much of a germaphobe, by the way, believe me.”
Scaramucci isn’t the only person in Trump’s circle to report being affected, either. Politico reported last year that staff heard coughing could be told to leave the room or stay away from the president. The story even mentioned Scaramucci’s story, though with less detail — only saying that Trump heard his press secretary coughing and ordered Dr. Ronny Jackson to “check him out.”
