President Donald Trump has just told the Democrats that “Pocahontas is now the face of your party.” His insult of choice was directed towards Sen. Elizabeth Warren and was stated during a meeting with senators earlier this week, sources told CNN.
The POTUS spoke on Thursday during a meeting at the White House and issued his criticism of Elizabeth Warren after she offered her own concerns about Attorney General Jeff Sessions during his confirmation process.
Republicans to invoke an arcane rule to cut her off and President Trump took it one step further.
Trump used his pejorative campaign nickname for Warren — a reference to her claims of having Native American ancestry — several times during the meeting, which one source described as “equal parts bizarre and completely awkward.”
Trump as one point said the only reason Warren claimed Native American heritage was “because she has high cheekbones.” There is no proof at all for that claim.
This wasn’t the first time Donald Trump has made such claims, relying on the same attacks during his campaign to become the POTUS.
“She’s got less Native American blood in her than I have, OK?” Trump said during a July rally in North Carolina. “Believe me … She goes, ‘Well look at my cheekbones.'”
During a Washington state rally in May, the POTUS called Warren “a total phony.”
Welcome the the Red State…
