Donald Trump Jr. Lied on ‘At Least Two Occasions’ to House Committee, According to Rep. Jackie Speier
Democratic member of the House Intelligence Committee, Jackie Speier, has told CNN that she believes that the President’s son, Donald J. Trump Jr. had lied to her committee on at least two occasions during their investigation into Russian election interference.
CNN’s Brianna Keilar asked Speier, “Do you think Donald Trump Jr. lied to your committee?”
“I believe he did,” She replied, before continuing to elaborate: “I don’t really want to go into it at this point, but I think there’s at least two occasions when he lied to the committee.”
Lying to Congress is a federal crime punishable with up to 5 years imprison. Democrats have recently said that they have referred multiple witnesses from their Russia investigation in the Senate to the special counsel’s office because of statements they feel were inaccurate. Donald Trump Jr. has told multiple individuals that he fears he may be indicted soon.
