Alec Baldwin is at the center of a tragedy after firing a gun on a movie set. He’d been told the weapon would be safe to fire, prepped for a scene. Instead, the weapon fired what was apparently a live round, and one person, cinematographer Halyna Hutchins is dead. Donald Trump Jr. apparently finds this to be an opportunity for political attacks and misguided attempts at humor.
On his website, Don Jr. sells a host of t-shirts with slogans celebrating right-wing politics. They include shirts that say “FJB,” for the chant “f*** Joe Biden,” and “Let’s go Brandon,” which has become a substitute for the same statement since a reporter at a sporting event misheard a chant on camera, as well as anti-vax slogans like “My science is better than yours” and “Powered by natural immunity.” Other targets include House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) (a t-shirt reads “Everyone has a crazy Aunt Nancy”) and the transgender rights movement (with a shirt demanding “Make sex and gender the same again,”) all with “Donald Trump Jr” printed on the sleeve.
Now, he also offers a t-shirt making light of a death that is still under investigation.
The Trump family has a history with Alec Baldwin, who portrayed the former president on Saturday Night Live in a less-than-flattering fashion. Trump tweeted angrily about the show, and reportedly even tried to get the U.S. Justice Department to somehow prevent the satirical sketch comedy from making fun of him.
