The Trump administration is in panic mode following Monday’s bombshell indictments and the 45th POTUS is apparently throwing his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, under the bus.
A report from Vanity Fair suggests that Trump wasn’t rattled by Mueller’s takedown of former campaign manager Paul Manafort, but took issue with the fact that George Papadopoulos had struck a plea deal — and possibly wore a wire for the past several weeks.
Trump is currently at a standstill. Firing Mueller would reveal his own guilt and that fact has made the President a spectator as the investigation continues to escalate. Lacking any real options, Trump has placed much of the blame on son-in-law Jared Kushner.
Trump reportedly complained to ousted White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon on the phone yesterday that Kushner convinced him to fire disgraced National Security Advisor Michael Flynn and followed up that request by asking him to fire former FBI Director James Comey. Those decisions led to Mueller taking over the investigation after being appointed as special counsel.
Roger Stone has allegedly added to Trump’s paranoia, claiming that Kushner gave his father-in-law bad advice. Former Trump campaign aide Sam Nunberg has also gone on the offensive against Kusher. “Jared is the worst political adviser in the White House in modern history. I’m only saying publicly what everyone says behind the scenes at Fox News, in conservative media, and the Senate and Congress.”
In all fairness, Nunberg thinks the President’s entire administration is flawed. “Trump is at 33 percent in Gallup. You can’t go any lower. He’s f–ked.”
Trump, of course, only has himself to blame. His erratic behavior on Twitter, his attempts to end the free press in America, and his daily outbursts, in general, have led to calls for Congress to enact the 25th amendment which could oust President Trump by proving he is unfit to hold office.
In the meantime, Trump is throwing everyone under the bus to protect himself, even if they’re family.
Welcome to the Red State…
