Donald Trump Demands “Equal Time” For The Big Lie As January 6th Hearings Proceed

It’s no secret that Donald Trump is unhappy about the work of the January 6th Committee. Even before public hearings began, he lashed out at what he calls the “unselect committee,” claiming that they’re operating on a political bias and running a “witch hunt.” Now as they move into their third public hearing, Trump is raging all over his social media site.

On Wednesday, Trump complained that the “unselects” were not bringing forth witnesses who believed that the election was stolen — after his attorney general and his own daughter both testified that they didn’t think there was any substance to the ‘stolen election’ claims Trump made after his loss.

On Thursday, just hours before the third hearing was to begin, the former president returned to his social site, where he’s been relegated since being kicked off of Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube, to complain some more — this time declaring that the Big Lie deserves “equal time” on “fake news networks.”

“The Fake News Networks are perpetuating lies, falsehoods, and Russia, Russia, Russia type disinformation (same sick people, here we go again!) by allowing the low rated but nevertheless one sided and slanderous Unselect Committee hearings to go endlessly and aimlessly on (and on and on!). It is a one sided, highly partisan Witch Hunt, the likes of which has never been seen in Congress before. Therefore, I am hereby demanding EQUAL TIME to spell out the massive Voter Fraud & Dem Security Breach!”
Appearing to really lose his temper, Trump posted again about a minute later, in all caps, to say, “I demand equal time!”

The January 6th Committee plans to bring evidence today showing the pressure campaign that Trump and allies used to attempt to force Vice President Mike Pence to reject legally certified electoral votes, and they’ve revealed that a future hearing will also present evidence showing the connections between militia groups, including the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers, and Donald Trump or others close to him.
