President Donald Trump called Bob Woodward’s latest book “fake” 90 minutes after Woodward warned Trump it would be “tough,” the author said on Sunday’s edition of 60 Minutes.
Woodward said he told Trump that Rage is “a tough book” and that “there are going to be things that you are not gonna like, judgments that I made.”
Trump, Woodward recalled to correspondent Scott Pelley, was upset because his recent Middle East peace deal was not included in the book.
“Well, I didn’t get you on this book,” Trump replied. “Maybe I’ll get you on the next one.”
Pelley: “And after you told the president that it was, in your words, a tough book, what did he do?”
Woodward: “An hour and a half later, he tweeted out that the Bob Woodward book is gonna be fake.”

More than 18 hours of taped conversations between Woodward and Trump were released last Wednesday and are the primary source material featured in Rage, which is set for release on September 15.
“Everybody does phony books on Donald Trump and Republicans, just like the Fake Dossier, which turned out to be a total fraud perpetrated by Crooked Hillary Clinton and the DNC…,” Trump tweeted after his call with Woodward. “…The Bob Woodward book will be a FAKE, as always, just as many of the others have been. But, believe it or not, lately I’ve been getting lots of GREAT books!”
Trump never specified what “great books” he had been receiving or from whom.
