Donald Trump Attacks Nancy Pelosi and Demands Multiple Stimulus Bills After Ordering Republicans to Stop Negotiating

President Donald Trump, amped up steroids, glued to Fox News, and probably strung out on dexamethasone while (hopedfully) in a medical quarantine, tweeted a total of 65 times on Tuesday – an impressive total – even for the King of Twitter.

In eight of them, spread out over a little more than seven hours, Trump did a complete 360 on the most pressing economic issue facing the country.

The first four appeared almost instantaneously, sharing the exact same timestamp.

1:48:47 p.m.: Trump – out of nowhere – instructs Republican lawmakers to cease negotiating an additional COVID-19 economic stimulus package with Democrats.

Trump whined about the usual suspects – crime-ridden Democrat-run states, Democrats refusing to negotiate – which in the real world are more attributable to the consequences of corporate-coddling Republican governance.

Trump vows to sign a new relief bill after the election.

“Nancy Pelosi is asking for $2.4 Trillion Dollars to bailout poorly run, high crime, Democrat States, money that is in no way related to COVID-19,” Trump said. “We made a very generous offer of $1.6 Trillion Dollars and, as usual, she is not negotiating in good faith. I am rejecting their request, and looking to the future of our Country. I have instructed my representatives to stop negotiating until after the election when, immediately after I win, we will pass a major Stimulus Bill that focuses on hardworking Americans and Small Business.”

1:48:47 p.m.: Trump would prefer that the GOP-led Senate prioritize confirming his latest Supreme Court nominee. He boasted about the economy using his favorite metric, the stock market. Wall Street had rallied when Trump checked himself out of Walter Reed Military Medical Center Monday evening following a weekend of aggressive, experimental treatments for the coronavirus.

He vowed to redress the relief bill after the election. Moments later, the DOW dropped 374 points. The S&P 500 dipped by 1.4 percent, double what it had gained on Tuesday morning.

“I have asked @senatemajldr Mitch McConnell not to delay, but to instead focus full time on approving my outstanding nominee to the United States Supreme Court, Amy Coney Barrett. Our Economy is doing very well,” Trump wrote. “The Stock Market is at record levels, JOBS and unemployment also coming back in record numbers. We are leading the World in Economic Recovery, and THE BEST IS YET TO COME!”

6:36:46 p.m.: Trump authors a fifth tweet four hours later as Americans, millions of whom are going hungry because they are unemployed and/or broke, ate whatever dinner they could afford. Some, sadly went without food today. But Trump was not focused on that. Instead, the president expanded on the slight at Democrats he hurled earlier in the afternoon.

“Crazy Nancy Pelosi and the Radical Left Democrats were just playing ‘games’ with the desperately needed Workers Stimulus Payments,” Trump seethed. “They just wanted to take care of Democrat failed, high crime, Cities and States. They were never in it to help the workers, and they never will be!”

Again, typical Trump deflection and projection.

8:35:26 p.m.: Trump takes a sexist swipe at Pelosi’s looksin tweet number six, written two afters after calling The Speaker of the House “crazy” – another familiar jab, dredging up her controversial maskless visit to a salon; sorry, a “‘beauty’ parlor,” in August.

“Wear your mask in the ‘beauty’ parlor, Nancy!”

8:54:05 p.m.: Trump abruptly reverses course on his initial directive to Congress, issuing a diktat to the people he insulted for billions of dollars in taxpayer cash for to distribute to airlines and the Paycheck Protection Program

“The House & Senate should IMMEDIATELY Approve 25 Billion Dollars for Airline Payroll Support, & 135 Billion Dollars for Paycheck Protection Program for Small Business,” Trump hollered. “Both of these will be fully paid for with unused funds from the Cares Act. Have this money. I will sign now!

9:18:10 p.m.: Trump also promises to sign a bill to authorize a second round of $1,200 stimulus checks – as long as the legislation solely focused that.

The president – whose condition is obviously deteriorating – is behaving erratically, fuminating like a juiced up maniac, gobbling down Fox News fiction, and almost totally alone (minus the periodic visits by his doctors), because his entire senior staff has tested positive for the coronavirus. This includes top miliary brass.

The entire presidential chain of command is breaking down – the White House is nearly non-functional – and Trump is being pumped full of powerful, unproven dugs.

Twenty-seven days until the election.
