Donald Trump/Andrew Cuomo Spar Over Twitter

Donald Trump has been doing his best to reassure Americans during the COVID-19 crisis. According to many the President has not done a very good job of it. According to a recent poll conducted by NBC News, only 45% of people are confident in the way Trump is handling the situation.

Many of the Nation’s Governors have been active combating the illness in their home states. After speaking with all of them today, Trump singled out New York’s Andrew Cuomo for his effort. Cuomo immediately shot back at the President saying that he hasn’t done very much at all.

In a since deleted tweet, Trump wrote, “Just had a very good tele-conference with Nations’s Governors. Went very well. Cuomo of New York has to ‘do more.'”

An irate Cuomo wrote back to Trump, “I have to do more? No — YOU have to do something! You’re supposed to be the President.”

Among the matters discussed during the meeting was the potential shortage of ventilators. Trump said it’ll be up to the states to find them. He reportedly told the Governors, “Respirators, ventilators, all of the equipment — try getting it yourselves. We will be backing you, but try getting it yourselves. Point of sales, much better, much more direct if you can get it yourself.”
