Donald Trump Almost Immediately Parrots Fox & Friends Ridiculous Immigration Argument

Democratic and Republican leaders are working to avoid a government shutdown like the one that ran through most of January. The sticking point in the negotiations remains the same — concerns about a wall along the Mexican border.

One of the main disagreements is how many people the government allows ICE to detain. This argument was a main talking point during this morning’s Fox & Friends show. Not long after the segment, President Trump parroted the arguments made on the show. Vox’s Aaron Rupar tweeted out the connection.

A Fox & Friends host opened the show by stating, “It sounds like the Democrats now want to limit or put a cap on the number of detention beds which really means put a cap on the number of criminals they can arrest or detain.”

Almost a half hour after that segment, Trump tweeted, “The Democrats do not want us to detain, or send back, criminal aliens! This is a brand new demand. Crazy!”

With arguments raging on between Trump and Democrats, the president is again threatening to build a wall via a National Emergency declaration. On Sunday, White House Chief of Staff, Mick Mulvaney, said, “The president is going to build the wall. Fox News Sunday.” “This is going to get built with or without Congress.”
The deadline to come to a deal and prevent another government shutdown is this Friday.
