Don Jr: Father Warned me to Tone Down “Hot” Social Media Presence
While he doesn’t serve the administration in any official capacity, Donald Trump Jr. has become one of the most familiar faces of the Republican party. The President’s son has even hinted that he may run for Mayor of New York City at some point.
Trump Jr. likes to model himself after his famous father and that become obvious to anyone who reads his Twitter feed. During a Tuesday appearance on Fox & Friends, the President’s son said that his father has sometimes asks him to tone down his rhetoric.
The President’s son sometimes retweets statements that are even too controversial even for his father. In June of this year, he shared a tweet claiming that Kamala Harris (born in Oakland, CA), was not an “American Black.”

Trump Jr. was asked about his Twitter presence during his Fox and Friends appearance. He said he’d been warned by his father that his social media was “getting a little hot.”
He continued, “You know, I realized, it took me 41 years to realize that I was probably a lot more like him than we ever thought. And, you know, backed in a corner, we fight. But every once in a while, I get that call like, ‘Hey, you’re getting a little hot on social.'”
Trump Jr. closed the segment with effusive praise for his father. “I will take your advice on anything,” he said. “I mean, this guy, you know, he gets it. He understands life, he understands people, he understands human nature. You know, you can really learn a lot from the guy. He’s amazing.”
