Divisive Trump Campaign Email: ‘This is Your Country, Not Theirs.’

Donald Trump’s campaign recently revealed that he has raised over $30 million in the first quarter of 2019. The president’s fundraising success is due in part to Trump’s massive email list of supporters.

The Trump campaign frequently sends these supporters provocative emails that motivate them to donate. The latest Trump email pits conservatives against liberals, claiming: “This is your country, not theirs.”

The email was shared by Melissa McEwan of shakesville.com. It begins:

“Let me be clear. Since the day I took my famous escalator ride in 2015 to announce my presidential campaign, the Democratic harassment, fake news attacks, and blatant lies have never been about me. Their target has always been you.”

Trump continued, “In 2016, I was simply your voice, but YOU were the one that took our country back and made the liberal swamp and political insiders FURIOUS.” And of course, the president mentioned, “Just look at the Phony Witch Hunt – NO COLLUSION.”

During his 2019 State of the Union, Trump told Americans, “Together we can break decades of political stalemate. We can bridge old divisions, heal old wounds, build new coalitions, forge new solutions and unlock the extraordinary promise of America’s future. The decision is ours to make.”

From the looks of the campaign email, however, the 2020 election strategy seems to be division. The note tells supporters, “The liberal swamp hates the idea of people like you being in charge of America and there is no line they won’t cross to prevent that from happening. Now headed into 2020, we have to remind them that this is your country, not theirs.”
