A former beauty pageant winner-turned-conservative pundit was sentenced last Thursday to spend one month in federal prison for stealing her mother’s Social Security checks.
Karyn Turk, who once won the Mrs. Florida beauty pageant, pleaded guilty in September to pocketing tens of thousands of dollars of her mother’s Social Security income — money that was supposed to go toward her nursing home to aid in her care. Turk’s mother, who had dementia, died in June of last year.
As noted by RightWingWatch, Turk is an adamant MAGA supporter, and a strong ally of former Trump confidante Roger Stone. Turk has made a number of appearances on Bill Mitchell’s YourVoice America program, where she made many outlandish claims against the left, including that Democrats are “domestic terrorists,” and that women who make accusations of sexual assault against politicians shouldn’t be believed when they “are unattractive.”

Shortly after her guilty plea last fall, Turk also held a legal fundraiser in support of Stone. The former adviser to President Donald Trump was himself found guilty for seven counts of lying to investigators, obstruction, and witness tampering. Stone is set to be sentenced in February.
Turk was sentenced last Thursday to serve one month in prison for her stealing her mother’s checks. She was also ordered to serve five months under house arrest following her prison sentence, the Sun-Sentinel reported.
Turk plans to appeal the ruling, but if she’s unsuccessful, she will have to report to prison in March of this year. She also faces a civil suit from the nursing home and legal representatives of her mother, who say they’re owed more than $300,000 in payments that Turk withheld from them. Turk is countersuing the nursing home, alleging they were negligent to her mother.
