“Did No One Come to His Birthday Party?” – Biden, Obama Torch Trump at Michigan Rally
If ever they were on, the gloves definitely came off today in Flint, Mich. Former president Barack Obama and vice president Joe Biden laid into what they see as Donald Trump’s mishandling of the coronavirus pandemic.
Speaking at an outdoor drive-up rally in Flint, Obama delivered some of his harshest criticisms of the president to date, noting Trump’s continued fixation on drawing large crowds to his events and saying a president should put people over “their own ego.”
“Does he have nothing better to worry about?” Obama said of Trump’s focus on crowds. “Did no one come to his birthday party when he was a kid?”
Adopting his now familiar “can you believe Trump is doing this” tone, the 44th president said, “When a country’s going through a pandemic, that’s not what you’re supposed to be worrying about. That’s the difference between Joe Biden and Trump right there. Trump cares about feeding his ego. Joe cares about keeping your family safe.”
Obama: "Canada identified its first [coronavirus] case the same week that the US did … our morality rate is 2.5 times higher than Canada. If we had the same percentage of folks dying in Canada as we do here, nearly 90,000 would have died instead of 230,000." pic.twitter.com/sazw1y6wYD

The duo also dismissed Trump’s assertion that doctors are exaggerating coronavirus deaths because they somehow make more money if they say more people die from the virus.
“He does not understand the notion that somebody would risk their life to save others without trying to make a buck,” Obama said. Seizing on White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows’s recent comments that “we’re not going to control the pandemic,” Obama said, “We noticed! But you know who will? Joe Biden will.”
Biden said the president has “waved the white flag of surrender to this virus” and promised a national plan of action.
