Dan Crenshaw: Liberals Don’t Trust Nuclear Power Because of The Simpsons

Nuclear power does not have the best reputation. There’s a reason for that. There have been nuclear disasters in 1979 (Three Mile Island), 1986 (Chernobyl), and 2011 (Fukushima). And with the worries about another tragedy, many have pushed for a switch to solar or wind energy.

However, Dan Crenshaw thinks that Americans should give nuclear energy another look. According to the Texas congressman, the reason Liberals are against nuclear power is that they watch The Simpsons.

Crenshaw said during a recent appearance on the Hold These Truths podcast, “It’s hard to educate people on this. When you attack fossil fuels, oil and gas, you raise the prices for those fossil fuels.”

The Texas Republican continued, “Countries have to transition to coal because relying on wind and solar is a fantasy. It’s just a fantasy. Can it be part of the energy mix, sure? Should you be transitioning to nuclear if you’re going to invest in anything? Yes, obviously.”

Crenshaw then claimed, “They don’t like nuclear because they watch the Simpsons or Chernobyl. It’s nonsense. Left-wing environmentalists tend to increase emissions every single time.”
