Dallas County Chief Executive Demands GOP Governor ‘Apologize to Texans’ for Outages and ‘Pass Weatherization Requirements’
Dallas County, Texas Chief Executive Judge Clay Jenkins ripped Republican Governor Greg Abbott on Thursday for his grotesque inaction toward mitigating their state’s power shortages resulting from this week’s historic Winter Storm Uris.
“I haven’t heard from the governor. I haven’t heard from any of the state leaders,” Jenkins said on MSNBC. “We have heard from the White House and we’re very thankful.”
Conditions are improving “because the Biden administration and FEMA (the Federal Emergency Management Agency) sent us generators” so that water treatment plants could remain in operation.
“We can’t do everything but everyone in public service can do like the people of Texas are doing now, helping each other,” Jenkins said, throwing some shade in Abbott’s direction.
