Crowd Chants ‘AOC Sucks’ At Trump Rally, While President’s Son Takes It All In

Donald Trump Jr., the son of President Donald Trump, seemed to revel in the angry chants from rally-goers that were directed toward freshman Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez during his father’s speech in Michigan on Thursday evening.

The ire of Trump’s supporters seemed to be shifting away from his former foe, Hillary Clinton. Audience members have traditionally chanted “Lock Her Up,” referencing Trump’s promise to investigate his Democratic opponent in the 2016 campaign if he won the presidency.
Those chants have largely diminished at Trump’s rallies. Meanwhile during his son’s warm-up speech, it seemed a new one was coming to the forefront.
Trump Jr. spoke at some length about Ocasio-Cortez, whose name is sometimes shorted to “AOC.” He chastised the Democratic Party for seemingly propelling her to the spotlight.
Donald Trump Jr. blasts Ocasio-Cortez: "Think about the fact that every mainstream, leading Democratic contender is taking the advice of a freshman congresswoman who three weeks ago didn’t know the three branches of government…that’s pretty scary"

“Think about the fact that every mainstream, leading Democratic contender is taking the advice of a freshman congresswoman who three weeks ago didn’t know the three branches of government. I don’t know about you guys, but that’s pretty scary,” Trump Jr. said.
Following those remarks, the crowd started repeatedly chanting, “AOC Sucks!” Trump Jr., who was ready to go into his next line in the speech, took a second to listen to the crowd’s words.
“You guys, you’re not very nice,” he said, jokingly pretending he was upset with their behavior. “And neither is what that policy [the Green New Deal] would do to this country.”
The gaffe that Trump Jr. referenced regarding Ocasio-Cortez was actually made in November, not three weeks ago. At the time, Republicans pounced on her mistake, despite the fact that the president from their own party has made dozens of equally embarrassing gaffes of his own, including failing to grasp the concept of the nuclear triad during a Republican debate in the primaries.
Ocasio-Cortez responded to the attacks. “Maybe instead of Republicans drooling over every minute of footage of me in slow-mo, waiting to chop up word slips that I correct in real-time, they actually step up enough to make the argument they want to make,” she responded, per reporting last year from the Daily Express.
