Conway Melts Down After Being Asked What Happened to Dr.’s Advising Trump

In the early day’s of the COVID-19 pandemic, Doctor’s on the White House Task Force regularly advised the public on best practices. But the press briefings became Trumpier and Trumpier until the President said that people should inject bleach and then they stopped.

The briefings, however, recently started up again. But unlike the earlier pressers that featured Dr.’s Fauci, Birx and Redfield, these are mainly Donald Trump. When asked where the Doctor’s were on Fox News Friday, Kellyanne Conway didn’t exactly have an answer.

The special adviser to the President was asked by Fox News’ John Roberts, “[Joe Biden] he would not muzzle his experts. I think it’s fair to point out that we have not seen Dr. [Deborah] Birx, Dr. [Robert] Redfield, Dr. [Stephen] Hahn, or Dr. [Anthony] Fauci — who I know just had polyp surgery — in public.” After Conway said that she had, Roberts followed, “We have not seen them at the coronavirus briefings for some weeks now.”

Conway fired back, “Well, if you haven’t seen Dr. Fauci in public, you don’t own a TV or a computer,” Conway replied. “You’ve got to be kidding me. He is a member of the task force who’s out there almost daily giving interviews to many diverse outlets and none of us have ever said, ‘Please don’t do that.’ My seat in the coronavirus task force briefing — I’m just a staffer — is right behind Birx and Fauci so we certainly see them.”

After Roberts again pointed out that they haven’t been at briefings, Conway said, “You mean the press hasn’t been able to ask them rude questions like the one that was asked by a colleague of yours from a different network for Dr. Fauci: ‘Are you here on your own volition?’ I mean, is he Patty Hearst? I mean, what is this?”
