The 4 years Donald Trump spent in office were certainly strange for Meghan McCain. McCain was meant to give the Conservative take on the news each day on The View. But, in the past, Trump had regularly denigrated the host’s father claiming he wasn’t a hero because he was caught by Viet Cong and became a POW.
Still, McCain’s right-wing takes on nearly every subject made for regular viral fights with her co-workers. But the show will now be in the market for a new Republican talking head as McCain is leaving the show.
An ABC source reportedly told the Daily Mail, “We have tried to keep her, but she is adamant that now is the right time for her to leave.” The source continued, “They even offered a contributor role on ABC News, which she turned down. She’s just had enough. She doesn’t need it anymore — she really doesn’t need it.
Back in January of this year, the host said she was staying on the show. McCain told Bravo host Andy Cohen, “Because whether we like it or not, I’m not going anywhere on the show, Joy’s not going anywhere on the show, we all have to live and co-exist together just like Americans right now. But we’re all going to try and co-exist and I really want to have us all move forward.”
It is likely that McCain ends up on a more Conservative network, but, as of now, future plans have yet to be announced.
