Donald Trump is no longer the highest level Republican holding public office. But a number of people in his inner circle will soon be running for seats of their own. Just last week Lindsey Graham anointed Lara Trump the future of North Carolina politics.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who served as Press Secretary to Donald Trump, wants to be the next Governor of Arkansas. Her father Mike was the states Governor from 1996-2007. According to Tim Miller, though, there isn’t much Republican excitement about her bid.
Writing for The Bulwark, Miller notes, “We all know by now that Sarah Huckabee Sanders is running for governor based on her experience as the most deft liar among the cadre of Trump press secretaries. But this development wasn’t met with immediate excitement among the Republican establishment in the Natural State.”
The Conservative pundit continues, “So there’s no civil war in Arkansas, either. The party regulars are almost entirely on one side of the battle. And your ability to rise through the ranks is determined entirely by your relational proximity to the former president.”
The current governor of the state, Asa Hutchinson is barred from running again by term limits. He has shown a willingness to speak out against Donald Trump. Following the Capitol insurrection, Hutchinson said, ” I want this administration to end. That was chaotic, he misled his supporters, it hurt us, and sure, he can make that judgment. But he’s not going to. So we’ve got to figure out how to move forward.”
