When people know they’re guilty, they act in all kinds of strange ways. Their behavior is full of tells that send a clear message that all is not well with them; perhaps it can’t be pinpointed, but you can tell they’re working hard to overcompensate or cover up something they don’t want you to see.
For an example of this behavior, just pull up any footage from any Trump rally and you’ll see and hear what I mean. Every accusation is a confession from the Florida Retiree. No other incumbent in history has ever tried so hard to cling to the doorframe of the Oval Office with their tiny tiny hands quite like Donald.
Maybe if his parents had ever shown him any real love, or had taught him to accept loss like most kids learn at an early age, Donald never would’ve allowed himself to fall under the sway of Vladimir Putin, or let Seth Meyers get under his very thin skin at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in 2013. But they didn’t, and so Donald grew up to be a walking orange grudge with a giant chip on its shoulder and a whopping dual case of narcissism and martyr syndrome.
It feels like ever since we got Biden/Harris over the finish line, there has been very little to celebrate and very much to fight against. Not even a moment to process the collective grief and massive trauma we suffered for four straight years. The pandemic, 1/6, the Big Lie, etc

The worst thing that can happen to a grifting liar who’s lived his entire life on the grift while always lying is it all catching up to them. And at some point in 2020, Donald realized that he couldn’t win the election fairly and began the gaslighting early, predicting the election would have to be ‘rigged’ for him to lose. By the time he legitimately lost to Joe Biden, Trump was already working on ways to stay in the White House at all costs.
White House reporter Michael C. Bender joined “Morning Joe” on Monday to discuss his new book ‘Frankly, We Did Win This Election,’ his book on the 2020 presidential election, and just how desperate Donald was to keep the protection of the Office of the President. Watch their discussion, below.
