Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (Q-GA) was rightly stripped of all of her committee assignments in February after having only been in Congress for a month as a result of her using Twitter to spread hateful conspiracy theories. But as a favorite of the Former Guy’s, Greene is now receiving extra special treatment (he’ll drop her like a hot potato the second she ceases to be useful to him, just watch). So special, in fact, that now House Republican Minority Leader just might be facing pressure to appoint Greene to the new Special Select Committee to investigate the January 6th insurrection Greene herself has been accused of helping to plan.
McCarthy is still under the former guy’s sway (what does he have on all of them, will we ever know what the Russians got off of the RNC server?) and if Daddy Trump says jump, Qevin asks how high and for how long. So if he wants his newest Ivanka replacement on that committee, she’ll end up there. The problem, of course, is that Greene has been credibly accused on several occasions of helping to plan the January 6th insurrection. She shared videos on Twitter after emerging from a secret meeting at the White House on January 5th, encouraging “patriots” to be ready for anything the next day. So how can she sit on the Committee that most likely will want to subpoena her to testify, especially when she can’t keep her Qidiot mouth shut?
Acosta: Where’s the proof that the FBI was involved? Where’s the proof that Antifa was involved? Don’t you owe it to people to produce that proof?
Greene: I don’t owe it. I didn’t cause the riot. pic.twitter.com/2AlX4n9Zs3

She also had the audacity to say she wants to “work with Nancy Pelosi” despite specifically targeting the Speaker in the days leading up to January 6th.
Since the Republicans voted down a bipartisan January 6th Commission, it seems wrong to have any sitting on the new Special Select Committee, but extra especially any of the glaringly overt terrible ones like Greene, Lauren Boebert, Madison Cawthorn, Andy Biggs, Jim Jordan, etc. But Greene is a special kind of terrible all on her own, and it makes Twitter collectively roll their eyes while trying to control their hands from not tweeting something that will get them suspended.
Greene, when asked if it was mostly Trump supporters in the Capitol in 1/6:
Greene: There’s all kinds of people involved in the rioting. There’s people in black clothes. There’s people in red hats…

Democratic members of the House aren’t taking this potential breach lightly. Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) appeared on MSNBC on Saturday to talk about his worries over just how the Republicans will stack their side of the Select Committee. Watch his comments, below.
