Commentary: Tucker Carlson and Laura Ingraham are Trying to Out-Racist Each Other on a Nightly Basis
Donald Trump was in the White House for a very long four years. And during those 4 years, the Fox News network at least got to pretend that this was a normal presidency with normal policy goals. This was, of course, far from true, but Fox only needed to convince their band of viewers.
Like with Barack Obama, the network is focused on fiercely attacking Joe Biden on a nightly basis. Unfortunately for them, Biden is off to a good start. And polls show that most of his ideas are quite popular with the American people.
So rather than talking about what’s happening in Washington DC, Fox hosts have gone all in on the culture war. And the newtork’s two most racist anchors, Tucker Carlson and Laura Ingraham, seem to be in a race to out do one another.
Carlson regularly pretends that white supremacy doesn’t exist at all. But during a recent show, Carlson pushed the Great Replacement theory. He told viewers that Democrats are trying to replace Americans with, “new people, more obedient voters from the Third World.” He assured his viewers that this is, “what’s happening actually. Let’s just say it. That’s true.”

When the organizations complained to the network and asked for Carlson’s removal, Lachlan Murdoch absurdly claimed that Carlson was speaking out against the theory.
Ingraham recently tried to outdo her fellow prime-time host. And during her Monday night show, she set her sights on CNN’s Bakari Sellers. “Bakari Sellers suddenly showed up in North Carolina today to condemn the police in another case,” she said. “And sporting an accent that — maybe I’m missed something, but I never heard him use on TV before.”

Each night, the anchors continue to say outright and astonishingly racist things. And it has certainly gotten worse since the November election. But it has become quite obvious that this is the direction the network would like to follow. As long as there’s money in racism, Fox is happy to cash the checks.
