The Republican National Convention is kicking off with a brand new Aileen Cannon-supplied win for Donald Trump on the heels of whatever actually went down at his rally on Saturday, which is still being investigated.
Trump's fellow member in the He-MAGA Man Woman-Hater's Club, JD "Hillbilly Effigy" Vance, was just announced at his VP, and hoo boy, is Kamala Harris going to have fun trouncing him at their debate.
If the confluence of all these happening right now seems sus to you, you aren't alone.
MAGA is currently trying to spin what they can't pin on Democrats. The shooter at the Trump rally--who didn't hit Trump but killed a retired fire captain who used his body as a human shield to protect his family--was a registered Republican. They're all going to end up with a lot of pulled hammies if they keep making the stretches that it was "violent Democratic rhetoric" that led to Trump being shot at with their favorite shooty weapon.
I repeat: he was shot AT. He got a boo-boo on his ear and then played golf on Sunday. After sinking a putt, he made a "joke" about "never missing a shot, unlike the shooter."
Tell that to Corey Comparatore's family, considering you also bragged about the GoFundMe for them was raising even more money than your campaign.
We all know where the true violent rhetoric is coming from. My friend Bob Cesca wrote an essential Twitter thread highlighting just how many Republicans have made videos of themselves shooting AR-15s at various targets related to Democrats.
Twitter is going to be an even bigger garbage fire this week, so let's mess with Elon's algorithms.
What if we blocked all of the tiny MAGA accounts who come for us & stay focused on the MAGAts in Congress instead? Anyone else is wasting your time with senseless arguments that won't change anyone's mind or vote MAGA Cultists don't care about facts, but Democrats do.
There are so many fake accounts pushing anti-Biden bias designed to distract you into prolonged fights. First, try to only respond to those who have any real impact on how Congress votes. Fighting with some dude called "MAGAPatriot29385692356" isn't moving the political needle.
So, trust your pal Tara, who's been through it with the Twitter trolls:
1. Never heard of the account trolling you? Mute/block without responding. You don't owe them a response, because you don't have to accept harassment as a built-in part of your online experience.
2. Want to be sure the account trolling you isn't real? There are so many giveaways if you just take the time to check their bios. When did they join? What are their follower/following totals? Do they mostly just retweet hot MAGA garbage? Is their most recent tweet from weeks or months ago? Also, you're still not required to ever respond. Mute/block.
3. If they're a member of the Bunchanumbers Bot Family, mute/block immediately. They are the raisins in the potato salad at the Twitter cookout and there are no chairs available for them.
4. Don't bother reporting any fake accounts unless they contain threats or hate speech/symbols. Anti-semitism is out of control on Twitter and Apartheid Clyde and Linda Yuckarino profit from it. So don't expect anything to be done, but report, block, and mute those.
5. Again, just don't engage with anyone who comes at you with anti-Biden bias. Use your energy to remind the MAGA members of Congress about Trump's criminality and his upcoming trials and legal consequences. Ask them why they're fine with Trump being a convicted felon who was found liable for sexually assaulting E. Jean Carroll and is facing sentencing on September 10th.
