It’s a shame that Saturday Night Live just ended its most recent season, because had they given it one more week, the departing Kate McKinnon could’ve had a glorious exit as Rudy Giuliani testifying to the January 6th House Select Committee for nine hours while essentially telling them nothing they didn’t already know.
Rudy Colludy Zoomed with the House Select Committee on Friday, but he “declined to discuss the involvement of congressional Republicans in efforts to overturn the 2020 election result.” No, really? It’s not like Trump’s former lawyer has such a great history of being cooperative with the government despite being a former government official. But Rudy is still gonna Rudy, and he did give the Committee a little something-something before he hopefully remembered to turn off his computer’s camera.Rudy discussed two “notable meetings” at the White House involving Trump that took place just weeks before the Capitol insurrection. But then he asserted privilege he doesn’t actually have, as well as “the work-product doctrine” to decline to respond when asked to detail the roles played by House and Senate Republicans in the scheme to stop Congress’s certification. So he essentially took the 5th while (make your own alcohol joke here, because Twitter already beat you it).

Nobody was expecting Rudy to tell them everything, he still has a lot of other court stuff to take care of, you know. Also, it sounds like he was just wasting everyone’s time arguing about the debunked claims of election fraud, because he’s in plenty of trouble over that too. But with all of the info they’ve already collected and the upcoming televised hearings, it’s possible they don’t even need Rudy to colludy with anymore, thanks! Criminal referrals are next, right? RIGHT?!
Rudy Giuliani met with Jan 6th Committee for OVER NINE HOURS yesterday!
Giuliani played a key role in Trump's multiple failed attempts to overturn the election.
