[COMMENTARY] More Tears On MyPillow: The “Trump Reinstatement Day” That Wasn’t

O, pity the ‘prophet’ Mike Lindell yet again.
The MyPillow CEO has been confidently hyping up his followers for weeks for the “reinstatement” of Donald Trump as “president”, an event he predicted would happen on Friday, August 13th. But Lindell’s dream of usurping our democratic process and putting an ousted criminal traitor back in the White House hasn’t materialized, so he’s crying even more tears into his MyPillow today.

Just last month, Lindell told The Daily Beast that he hoped to have “sufficient evidence of voter fraud” to bring to the U.S. Supreme Court by the end of July. He theorized that, when that happened, the Republican party would have Trump “back in the Oval Office by the end of August”. He later specified that date, telling the conservative Worldview Weekend Broadcast Network that “August 13th would be the chosen day” when the world would “finally rise up” and demand that their Dear Leader be placed back in power.
In a bold move, Reuters and USA Today go out on a limb and predict that the former president WILL NOT be reinstated on Friday the 13th! Color me shocked!#ReinstatementDay pic.twitter.com/Gc7lKsNjEE

Is there no one who can come collect this poor man and get him the help he so clearly needs?
Mike Lindell says by August 13, the talk of the world will be to overturn the election and get the communists out. He also said there will be many down ticket senators that will have different election results. pic.twitter.com/clYG1kMTgx

Lindell is allegedly moving the reinstatement goalposts to the arbitrary date of September 18th, because all of the evidence he’s never found will magically materialize by then, just like the coronavirus was supposed to magically disappear by April 2020.
29 percent of all republicans said it’s “very likely” Trump gets reinstated Friday, 8/13/21. 19 percent say it’s “somewhat likely”.

The one good thing about the QAnons believing in “Reinstatement Day” was Twitter enjoying a proper roasting of the QIdiocy. Here’s a roundup of some of the finest tweets about the worst people.
I just can’t laugh at all the #ReinstatementDay & #QAnonCult jokes circulating today.
The @GOP has been hijacked by a cult that uses lies and conspiracy theories to make its own voters put their lives at risk. It’s not funny- it’s dangerous to our democracy.

Quick question: When Trump gets reinstated today, is JFK Jr going to be his Vice President?

“Dammit Chad, we’ve been standing out here since the last time trump was supposed to be reinstated, and the time before that. You sure it was supposed to be today?”
