[COMMENTARY] Giuliani Trashes Powell on Sean Spicer’s Newsmax Show

Trumpworld has given society a cast of characters that future generations will look at and wonder just how anyone this inept was allowed to be in charge of anything, let alone the entire country. The White House revolving door of ineptitude has taken in and spit out so many staffers in the last four years that one needs a hundred scorecards to keep up. A seemingly endless supply of new toadies pops up to replace their predecessors like a terrible carnival shooting gallery without much difference in the results, as they’re all just mouthpieces for Trump to use to spread his unfounded and unverified lies as far and wide as possible. They usually go on to book deals or TV appearances or both, happy to appear alongside one of their former co-workers who’s still pro-Trump. But as soon as one proves ineffective (or “useless” to use Trumpese), the pack of remaining faithful swarm to devour them, because no one eats their own like a team of desperate losers.

Witness Sean Spicer, who was the first of four to hold the title of White House Press Secretary. You’ll recall that Spicer got off to an infamously dubious start when he told the press in the briefing room that Trump’s inauguration was the largest attended in history. So it should surprise no one that he’s used his post-political career to publish a book (that no one read) and a show of his own on a site that has the word “news” in its name but has yet to provide any itself. Newsmax is just there to serve as a propaganda assembly line for Trump, churning out the latest gaslighting they’ve cobbled together in a desperate attempt to keep grifting the MAGA faithful. Spicer hosted Rudy Giuliani on his show, where the topics ranged from the election loss to the election loss, and Giuliani of course blamed everyone but himself and Trump, who legitimately lost the election. Giuliani specifically pointed a wizened spidery finger at his former co-counsel, Sidney Powell, who promised to “release the Kraken” and prove election fraud in an attempt to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election. Instead, Powell flopped in every court case, as did Giuliani, but it’s her fault, everyone, not his.

Vox.com journalist Aaron Rupar shared a series of tweets showcasing the crazier parts of the conversation between Spicer and Giuliani, including his comments about Powell and explanation as to why the Democrats need to prove they didn’t cheat. Giuliani also says he can no longer appear on Fox News.

Joe Biden has been declared the winner of the 2020 Presidential election, with his 306 Electoral Votes expected to be certified by Congress on January 6, 2021.
