[COMMENTARY] Expand the Majority or Lose It All #DefendDemocracy

Tuesday, November 8, 2022, is Election Day in America. People will cast votes to determine the balance of power in both the House of Representatives and Senate. American political trends point to the minority party doing very well and seizing control of Congress. The Trump-controlled Republican Party is counting on the trend to hold.

Democrats have razor-thin margins but are unable to broadly overcome either factional differences or Republican obstruction. This is why much of President Biden’s domestic agenda will not be implemented.

The Insurrection on January 6, 2021, was a direct attempt to subvert Democracy and overthrow the election of 2020. This was a well-planned and executed event. While there appears to be no Department Of Justice investigation into Congressional Republicans, or Trump, there is little doubt that they were involved. Whether purposely and directly or coincidental and indirectly, they were involved.

If Republicans gain control of Congress in 2022, the Insurrection in 2021 leads to the logical conclusion that they will not certify a victorious Democratic President in 2024. Consider this when you plan to vote in the upcoming midterm elections. Prepare and vote with urgency.

Nothing less than American democracy is on the line. Republicans are implementing Fascist policies at local and state levels nationwide. They are creating laws that allow them to override the will of the majority to instill minority rule. This Fascist ideology is now the foundation the Republican Party stands on.

Democrats are unable to end the filibuster and pass voting rights legislation. The truth is, We the People are the last line of defense to Defend Democracy and save our Republic.
