[COMMENTARY] Elon Musk ‘Threatening’ to ‘Walk Away’ From Twitter Deal

Yeah, I called this one. Sorry not sorry, this is an “I told you so” that I’m totally fine with, thanks.

Elon Musk had a lot of reasons to announce he was buying Twitter, but none of them were actually because he wanted to buy Twitter. He’s just one of those people that has to make as many other people as miserable as possible because he’s miserable too. Also, he’s icky and does a lot of sexually inappropriate things that should automatically make him a societal pariah, except those pesky billions have a way of making those kinds of things seem irrelevant to people who care more about bank accounts than being accountable.

Elon probably grew up with a lot of abandonment issues because his mom was a globe-trotting supermodel and his rich dad clearly wasn’t a role model on how to treat other people, and that’s why he’s a walking Freudian nightmare with hella money. It’s also why he jumped on every hot button issue on Twitter while pretending he was ever going to lay out any coin for that trash app.

Now he’s trying to make it seem like it’s Twitter’s fault he keeps finding reasons to not buy it. Elon is openly accusing the social media company of breaching their merger agreement by not providing the data he has requested on spam and fake accounts. Which is basically like telling a restaurant you’re not going to eat there unless they can assure you that every individual farmer responsible for growing and harvesting whatever’s on your plate had clean fingernails.

It’s petty and small, a Trumpian tactic to pretend the product isn’t good enough for you when you were never going to buy it anyway. In a letter to Twitter’s head of legal, policy, and trust, Vijaya Gadde, Musk alleged that Twitter is “actively resisting and thwarting his information rights” as outlined by the deal.

Uh-huh. Also, Twitter isn’t making people be nice to him, so he’s taking his toys and he’s going home now.
