By now everyone should be pretty hip to the attention-seeking experiment Elon Musk unleashed by announcing he was going to buy Twitter for $44 billion. I feel fairly secure in my assessment that Elon just wanted to play with other peoples’ feelings for a while to see what would happen while he was sorting things out with the SEC. It’s just that he keeps making pre-excuses for not buying it now, kind of like when Donald Trump pre-excused his loss in November 2020 but now acts like he didn’t lose.
Once Elon started musing about charging “certain” people to use Twitter and other odd ramblings, he couldn’t stop telling on himself. The obvious projection just got sillier by the day. There was some nonsense about him finding other backers when he was supposed to be buying Twitter all by himself like a big boy, but now the Big Stall is on.Elon’s latest excuse? Twitter has too many bots! No, really! He said his team would test “a random sample of 100 followers” on Twitter to identify the bots.
Any sensible random sampling process is fine. If many people independently get similar results for % of fake/spam/duplicate accounts, that will be telling.
I picked 100 as the sample size number, because that is what Twitter uses to calculate <5% fake/spam/duplicate.

Then this happened. Or did it? Usually when a bloviating billionaire says “this actually happened,” it probably didn’t. Weird how we keep seeing this kind of behavior, huh?
You were fired by PayPal before they succeeded. You didn’t found Tesla. SpaceX was failing until a woman came in to clean up your ineptitude.
Add failing to acquire Twitter to your legacy of overhyped impotence.

Anyway, maybe next Elon will say Twitter has too many women on it, or too many people who respond with the truth, or something equally petty so he can be all, “I didn’t want it anyway!” after he realized he couldn’t afford it.
I hope @Twitter tell @elonmusk to go piss off , because his resent tweets have driven @Twitter stocks down . @Twitter you know he is crazy as hell , he will @Twitter as a tool to advance his business holdings , he has shown you that you can’t trust him @MSNBC @CNN @NPR
