For a few years after her unceremonious departure from NBC News, Megyn Kelly was pretty quiet. In the last year, though, she launched a podcast and now has a show on Sirius/XM. And this version of Kelly much more aggressive and less polished than she was on Fox News.
The radio host decided to attack an old competitor this week by inviting a man on her show who has accused Don Lemon of sexual harassment. This led to a response from the CNN personality’s lawyer.
Kelly had Jody Hice on her radio show. In 2018, Hice claimed that Lemon had been inappropriate with him. Caroline J. Polisi, a lawyer for the CNN’s host writes, “You permitted Mr. Hice’s statements to go unchallenged during your broadcast, clearly out of a vendetta you have against Mr. Lemon.
The letter continued, “Mr. Lemon has presented evidence of Mr. Hice offering to bribe a witness and that he intentionally destroyed and withheld material evidence that both is directly relevant to his purported claims and that severely undermines his credibility.”
And a statement from CNN following the accusations from Hice read, “This claim follows his unsuccessful threats and demands for an exorbitant amount of money from Don Lemon. Don categorically denies these claims and this matter does not merit any further comment at this time.”
Correction: The original version of this article claimed that Lemon had filed a legal complaint against Kelly. That is not correct.
