Chris Christie Says Trump’s Words Led to Insurrection, But He Still Would Have Voted For Him

Chris Christie and Donald Trump have been in a war of words for months. The former New Jersey governor says the GOP can’t move on if the ex-president doesn’t stop making claims of election fraud. And Trump says Christie is a total loser who nobody likes.

Christie, who acted as an adviser to Trump, even admits that the former president was responsible for the violence of January 6th. If he had to do it all over again, though, the former governor says he would still vote for the 45th president.

“It was clear to me he would be the Republican nominee and we had a relationship,” Christie said. “So I wanted to try to make him the best candidate he could be, and if he won the best president he could be. I don’t make any apologies for that. I was one very small part of the effort to help make him president so the responsibility that I’ll take is I voted for him twice. I admit that and I wouldn’t change my vote.”

Bash countered, “Even the second time?” Christie continued:

“No, I wouldn’t. I wouldn’t change my vote because so many things down there are happening now in the country from a policy protective to me are so long term bad for the country.”
