It was a good week for the GOP. Glenn Youngkin was able to become the next Governor of Virginia. Jack Ciattarelli made it a much closer race in New Jersey than anyone expected. And in achieving that, the candidates gave the Republican party an outline of how to move forward without Trump.

That’s because both Ciattarelli and Youngkin were able to win back suburban votes by distancing themselves from the former president. And former Trump ally says that the GOP needs to dump Trump if he can’t get over 2020.
The former New Jersey governor made the comments at the Republican Jewish Coalition in Las Vegas. According to CNN, he told the assembled:
“We can no longer talk about the past and the past elections — no matter where you stand on that issue, no matter where you stand, it is over. Every minute that we spend talking about 2020 — while we’re wasting time doing that, Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer are laying ruin to this country. We better focus on that and take our eyes off the rearview mirror and start looking through the windshield again.”
Christie later told CNN, “[Trump could be a] very positive force for Republican candidates’ in 2022 if he will ‘begin talking about the future and tell the truth about the election and move on.”
